Welcome! We would like to welcome you to our orthodontic practice. The doctors and staff want you to know that we care about our patients. We look forward to working together to provide the most appropriate treatment for each patient. Cooperation and communication between us is important if we are to succeed at this goal. We believe the more you know about our practice and policies, the better we can serve you.

Office Hours

Our regular office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30am to 5:15pm. We are closed for lunch from 1:00-2:00pm. Our Smithfield office is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

In order to facilitate the efficiency of our office, certain types of appointments are scheduled at specific times of the day, without exception. It is impossible to schedule all of our school-aged children after school. We will make every effort to rotate after-school appointments equally among all patients. One of our doctors is always available to handle after hour emergencies.

Insurance

We have many different types of orthodontic insurance programs in our area. As a courtesy, we will be happy to file your orthodontic insurance claims for you. We ask that you pay us directly, and we will fill out the necessary forms to have you reimbursed by the insurance company. Please let us know at the earliest possible opportunity that you have orthodontic insurance coverage by submitting an insurance form with the subscriber portion completed and signed. We will make every effort to file your claims in a timely manner so that you will receive your maximum benefits with minimal delay.

Emergency Care

The following is a list of simple solutions to the most common orthodontic emergencies:

PROBLEM SOLUTION
Loose Band or Bracket Call office for recementation appointment. Please keep any bands that have come completely loose.
Loose Archwire Call office for emergency appointment. Meanwhile, try to replace wire into tube or bracket with tweezers.
Lost Ligature Wire/Colored O-Ring Please call for emergency appointment. Lost tie wires or elastic ties should be replaced as soon as is convenient.
Anything Poking Try to bend the offending part back. A pencil eraser may be useful or cover area with wax. Call for emergency appointment.
Accidents or Injuries to Teeth Call our office as soon as possible so we can determine the proper course of action.
Soreness Soreness is to be expected after an adjustment appointment. Over-the-counter pain medications may make you more comfortable. Warm salt water rinses can help irritated soft tissue.
After Hour Emergencies Please call the office. One of our doctors is always available to handle after hour emergencies. The answering machine will give you the phone number of the doctor on call.
